Ethergraf® Space Moon Landing, made in Italy under the PININFARINA Segno brand, was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. The body of the product is made of die-cast magnesium and then covered with a white ceramic coating. A base imitating the surface of the moon was created from a round light stone. The writing tip is a metal alloy called Ethergraf®. Pininfarina Space was handed over to the crew of the International Space Station (ISS) during the last VITA mission. Astronauts, including the Italian Paolo Nespoli, could therefore use it in microgravity conditions where normal feathers do not work.
Metal alloy Ethergraf® writes via oxidation without the need for graphite or ink, making it perfect for the environmental characteristics of space stations where the micro particles produced by the graphite of ordinary pencils are very dangerous to the filtering system.
The Italian brand Pininfarina Segno presents an original horizon of an innovative and unique scenario in the writing experience. It creates new trends, timeless beauty, follows technical progress, perfects. Pininfarina Segno combines cutting-edge technology and craftsmanship to add a new chapter to the history of the magazine and beyond.
